Default Happy wife, happy life: lifting passenger seat

Our new to us '07 Durango has no power seat on the passenger side (boo, hiss). My wife has scoliosis which makes things difficult. She's asked that the front row passenger seat be lifted to make her more comfortable.

Any ideas on how this might be or best be done? It looks like I'll have to remove the track and add spacing of some sort, I'm looking to gain about 3" minimum (Mrs. Theraymondguy is only 5'4" tall).

Your input would be appreciated.

Just spitballing here, but I'd be hesitant to raise the seat even that much. In the event of an accident, I think even 3" spacers (and longer bolts to hold them) would so change the stress points and center of gravity that I'd be concerned with the seat giving way. I'm no engineer though.

Is there a local junkyard you can troll for a power passenger seat? Should just need the rails and switches...

If you're stuck on the spacer, I'd pick up some rubber or urethane blocks and shape them to the size I'd need. I get that type of stuff at Ace hardware, mine has a decent selection of odds and ends. They'll also have the longer bolts- get something stout though (like grade 8).

or maybe just get 3 inch padding for the seat cushion. like a booster seat for kids weighing more than 50 pounds.

Taking Twmays advice, I found a used power seat for CHEAP! Looks like a straight forward swap, 4 bolts hold the movement to the frame.

The seat was $50, but I'll need to swap the movement onto our chair as the colours are far off.

This is becoming more complex. Swapping the lower seat controls is easy money, getting the recline to work will be a greater challenge. The recline motor is in the lower right corner of the backrest, it may be easier to swap covers. Still haven't decided, I only got the keys last night...

The harnesses don't match up, 04 to my 07. However I was able to use additional spacers from the '04 seat and longer bolts (10.9 grade). I added a couple of washers to the front to tip the rear of the seat down as Mrs. Theraymondguy prefers. Total lift, 1". She's pretty happy with 1 extra inch.
