Default 05 Durango noise in front

When I first got this D it made a noise when trying to get into my garage going up a slope. I posted something and got a replied not to worry about it as it was probably the traction control. That was at 77,000 km. Recently I was at my neighbours and had to climb a muddy hill, there was terrible noises coming from both sides, sounded like the traction control engaging + disengaging. I tried shutting off the traction control but it didn't improve. I barely made it up the hill. After that there it a rubbing type noise coming from the drivers front that comes and goes. Today when I came back from fishing with my boat, when I hit a bump it made the noise like when you loose traction. I pressed the button to disengage the traction control but it made no difference. I don't know how to start to troubleshoot this. Please advise. BTW, it has 102,000 km on it now.

I'm in the same boat, no replies, just a quiet forum I guess.

There isn't much anyone can do for noises in text form. If you have some way to record it, you will likely get some replies. Traction Control/ABS DOES feel terrible. Especially on a 4WD truck. Then your noise COULD be from a problem with the transfer case or some differential parts being worn.

Not sure where the problem lies. I know this is hard to troubleshoot and it is intermittent. Yesterday when I left work it was making the noise, I engage and disengaged 4 wheel hi, no change. Stopped to get pizza and no more noise.

The noise is getting worse and happens more often. I think I should replace the bearing. I'm pretty sure my manual has instructions but I would appreciate a link to video/tips/instructions.

I didn't get a response. Okay it looks like the bearing is shot. Does anyone have a good video/instructions for this repair? What size is the axle nut?

I changed the bearing and the noise is gone. It took a ton of time as it was very seized on there.
