2007 Durango HVAC Mode Door

2007 Durango HVAC Mode Door
I have a 2007 Durango that only blows air through the dash. When I try to change the mode to defrost or floor, I can hear the actuator moving but it seems like the door is stuck. I put my hand on the part of, what I think is the mode door actuator, that turns and changed the mode at the dash and can feel it turn so I think the actuator itself is fine.
I read this post:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ange-mode.html
And saw that the fix for replacing the mode door is $1200... I'd rather not have to pay that amount or drill a hole in the AC system to fix it. (kudos to the OP on that thread, pretty smart fix in a jam!)
That said, does anyone here have a resource you can point me towards that has instructions on how to tear out the dash to get to the mode door?
Thanks in advance for any help, comments or advice!

Question
Is it possible you could add a picture for me as a frame of reference for where the hole needs to be drilled? Same issue here with only heat from vents and nowhere else. Don't feel like dropping a load of cash in the car as we may replace it later this year. 168k and still running great.
Thank you.
Thank you.
