Default 2004 4.7 rattling converter and bad missfire

I have a 2004 Durango has the 4.7. I bought the truck about a month ago and it has a #7 missfire. Slowly git more and more worse and now has a #1#3#7 missfire I didn't really worry about the missfire at first because once warm it would pretty much quit. However once it got really cold again it git worse and now has the 3 cylinders misfiring. I thought it started to knock but after crawling under the truck heard ir coming from my catalytic converter on the driver side. It rattles and kinda makes a knock noise one in a while. I an wondering if it would be possible to just take and hollow out the converters and pit them back on the truck ?

I checked the compression all reading were I'm a good safe range. However the plugs looked like it was running a lil lean. I have not checked them since the converter started to rattle and now I smell fuel I'm assuming it not burning it our of the misfiring cylinders.
