RE: My Durango 2004 V8 5.7L ENGINE LIGHT
Here is a wesite that outlines pretty much every error code there is.
http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/
U1120 - SCP (J1850) Invalid or Missing Data for Primary Id
No idea what that means though....hopefully this helps. Let us know what you find out.

RE: My Durango 2004 V8 5.7L ENGINE LIGHT
Okay, so now it happened to me today! I was driving down the road, the abs light popped on with achime, then the brake light came on with a chime, I thought oh it is just the brakes. Then a couple seconds later, the air bag light pops up with the chime and the speedometer stops working. Then finally, the check engine light decided to pop on too. I shut the engine off and when I turned it back on, everything except the check engine light was gone. Speedo worked again. I ran the code and it says U1120. I took the battery cable off to clear the check engine light, we'll see. I just wanted to throw this out because it seems like it is related to the computer in some way. Any help from anyone would be great. I have 42,000 miles and there are no freebies at the dealership.

I have a 2004 Dodge Durango and the same code just appeared on mine today. I parked at a Sonic and when it was time to leave I turned the key and noticed the check engine light had come one. I've got 49K miles on this Durango ... what the heck is it doing throwing a check engine light!!! I'm still looking for some kind of explanation of the code. I have a subscription to Alldata DIY but it's just about useless for finding code information. I've reset the check engine light and I'm anxious to see if it comes on again.

It sounds like the computer it may be able to be flashed if not they should replace it. It should fall under the powertrain warranty, but if your warranty has run out it does also fall under the federal emissions warranty which is 8/80,000. If your state requires an emission test to register the vehicle it will fail with the check engine light. If the dealer says it won't be covered then call Dodge and they will give you a number for the dealer to call and it will get fixed free of charge. (its kind of funny watching the service manager tell you your wrong and then they call the company and they tell him to fix the car) lol.

I was driving to work this morning all of the sudden the brake light then the airbag light then the check engine light. I pulled over, shut her off then restarted. The engine light stayed on. Went to advance auto and bought an actron cp9180. BTW they are on sale half price. Got a $200 unit for $100.
Anyway gave me the u11020, saw this post and disconnected the battery.
When I did I found a bunch of corrosion on the neg. Cleaned it good and started her up and no light.
I guess it's possible that it has to do with the electrical current being steady and strong enough for the computer. Not sure just thought I'd post.
