Default Engine oil smells like gas...

I have a 2001 Intrepid with 100,600 miles on it. I recently changed the oil and filter and within a week the oil has a hint of gas to it. I think I may need new piston rings but does anyone have any info about this??

Do you have a long crank time after the vehicle sits over night? Sounds like a leaky injector to me.

Nope, the crank time is great, it sat for 2 days and started right up, no delay at all.

you can check if the rings leak with a compression tester and a bit of oil. Check all cyl, record results then repeat each cyl with about 1 tbs of oil added. If values change, that cyl has bad rings.
