Looking for advice / input from fellow 2nd gen Intrepid owners, or anyone that is knowledgeable on in this issue.
Vehicle
- 2003 Chrysler Intrepid
- ES V6
Problem
- needs new catalytic converters
Action
- decided to order part, online to save on cost
Dilemma
- parts dealer claims to have sent the correct parts but my mechanic says the cat I received for the passenger-side is too short
Here are the items I received.
Driver Side - test-fitted by mechanic
- correct fit
Passenger Side - test-fitted by mechanic
- wrong fit (TOO SHORT)
I've checked other online auto parts dealers and it seems to be consistent throughout, that I was sent the correct parts. I've tried google'ing to see pictures of cats on 2nd gens but haven't been successful.
SO.............
- who's wrong, my mechanic or the store?
Thanks in advance.

My 99 3.2 Intrepid's pass side converter looks just like that except at the end where it will be welded my car looks like it has a little expansion chamber.I think all your mechanic needs to do is add a little pipe to the end of it and it'll be ok.Just my .02
