Default Abused Ram 4x4s

I've been looking for Dodge trucks that have been setup for off-road abuse. I did say abuse not use. Run it hard, bang it up, rock crawl with the Jeeps, and climb sand dunes with the rail buggies. Anybody doing any of that with their truck?

Has anyone out there tore off the bumpers, bed, and cut the front fenders to fit +40" tires?

If you care how your truck looks, I'm not interested. If you care how your truck performs, EVERY WHERE ON EARTH, then I'd like to hear from you.

I run a 2001 Ram, Diesel, 6-speed stick 4x4 with a SkyJacker 7" lift, 37" BFG KM2s, ARB lockers front and rear, Banks Engineering end-to-end kit. I am looking for other upgrades to improve the on and off-road ride. So far it's great in the open deserts, not so good in heavy rock, and way too big to get through trees.

I'm looking for ideas for a custom bed, cage, and rear suspension. I need a truck bed that can scrape rock walls and lean against trees and survive.
Are leaf springs good enough. Anybody with custom 4-link rear suspension on coils or air bags out there? What have people been doing with the steering? I'm eating up steering gears as fast as a kid goes through a bag of candy.

Anybody go so extreme to cut the cab in two to narrow it? How'd that work out?
