What does this do for performance?

Okay, so made the mods today. Put in a k&n air filter, pulled out the intake resonator, but left the tube behind, so now it should pull cool air from the front facia ports. As far as the straight pipe, the guy who brought it over pointed to that thick rubber tube running from the throttle body towards the headers and told me to put it there. Especially since I hadn't gotten any feedback, it didn't sound like a good idea to me, so we left that stock. The car now has a slightly more aggressive tone, and a bit more pickup, so all in all, a good day for me Tell me what you think, all worthy mods?
