Default RE: mustang vs neon?

yeah, neons aren't the fastest. But they definitely aren't the slowest. weight and horsepower are almost everything. I mean...this kid was so dumb. All he ask was how much horsepower I was pushing and with my dissapointing number he laughed. I wish I would have raced him...

I will be looking around about NGC. I don't know what FSM is but maybe i will find out haha.

thanks for the help

ya, with an NGC your car is less likely to blow up if you do something stupid... In other words, the NGC is far more advanced engine controller than the previous neon controllers. I don't think there is an advantage or a dis-advantage. It all depends on how you look at things.

The NGC helped my turbo project in more ways then one. The most important thing was keeping my out-of-boost and cruise A/F ratios perfect. Even with the bigger injectors.

non-NGC cars are not making big power N/A either... Don't be so quick to blame the NGC. Look at my sig... my NGC made power. N/A & neons should not be together in the same sentence. Unless you got **** loads of money, boost is what you need to make a neon fast.
Making n/a power is really that much more expensive. Fast is a relative term anyway.

yes compared to the cost of using boost to get power, and i agree with the second part of you comment. Don't forget that we are on a neon forum, where stock cars run 16-17 second quarter mile times. Relative to that, low 14's to high 13's on stock internals is fast... or maybe quick would better suit your fancy.

For a 4cylinder 14 mid to low 14's is impressive regardless on stock internals. DOHC or Sohc. My 98 was my first car back in 00, and I thought that sohc 5speed was quick. Granted it had plenty of go stock. Now driving a dohc with a plateful of mods, I find myself bagging turbo eclipses with front mounts from a dig or on the roll. I do it all for that look on their face when you pop the hood and there is no srt swap. Not that I do not think about it, but it is more power than I need. For now
