Default Is it the PCM???

I have a 2003 Dodge Neon that is in limp mode. The CEL came on: P0700 and P0731 (1st gear malfunction). I have already replaced the input & output sensors and the shift solenoid but still no resolution.

The transmission worked fine before the engine blew. We replaced the engine and since the transmission has been stuck in limp mode so I don't think it's a mechanical issue unless something happened when the engine went.

When I drive the car, the speedo does not work and the fuel gauge moves erratically which kind of strikes me as some kind of electrical problem. Do you think it could be the PCM? That's pretty much the only electronic part left. Has anyone had to replace their PCM due to simular issues?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Default

whom ever replaced the engine missed something, take it back to the 'mechanic' and have it fixed correctly.

sure you can install a new pcm, probably won't fix anything but since you've stated you've exhausted all other possibilities, that makes sense to put a pcm in it.

oh, when you connect a real scanner, what does the TCM show for codes and data?
