Either way my old alternatives bearings were about to seize. And I could pull the spark plug tube out of the head with my fingers. . When I got the car every time I went to stop my idle dropped to 500 elms and would almost die. I replaced th alternator with a used one and re seated the spark tubes. Problem solved. And I'm still running with the plug wires that came with the car. I just speak from experience with my neon s and try to help others.

No harm, no foul !

Were all on here with best advise and expereince that we have gained,

My expereince is Ford's and Porsches for 20 years and more Car forums than I can remember. Trying to help diagnose a persons issue is like calling a doctor, they'll tell you to come in and even then no 2 people are the same.

And these forums as you correctly say are all about helping others, which is what we all try to do.

4 sure you'll need an o2 wrench, soak it before hand (at least 3 hours) with a good penetrating oil such as WD40

Fixed it for you WD-40 isn't formulated to be a full-on penetrating spray like PB. PB Blaster is formulated as such (so it works better and faster), and is one of the best in existence.

Default 500 rpm

Hi. I bougth a 2005 neon few weeks ago. Its stay normally at 500 RPM and goes to 700 or 800 RPM with A/C on. I did change already spark plugs, oil filter. My big concern is. When I search for MPG says it should run around 24 or 26 mpg so 300 miles per tank aprox. I have fill the tank already 3 times and its running around 200 mile per tank that's mean between 16 mpg that's bad. Please I need an advise on this. Otherwise I might be thinking on sell it. Thing that I wish not because I like the car looks pretty with the body kit.
Please any advise.
Thank you so much
Manny

Believe it or not my mechanic says the best he has found is the Mopar stuff.

That might be AeroKroil? I know Ford uses it. It is pricey, but seems to be the best stuff ever made, lol.
