Default stock hood modified to look like srt 4

Does anyone think this idea is possible, I thought of it today, so tell me ur feedback it would be a whole lot cheaper then getting the hood I was thinking of taking the hood to a shop or whatever and have them cut the circle shape of the hood then push it down a bit 1-2 inchs how ever big the hole is then possibly reinforcing/fabricating it underneath but considering how thick a hood is it should hold up and not like move itself

but anyway theres my idea what do yall think?

the reason I thought of this is if u look at the srt 4 hood that's basically what it looks like like it was cut out and fabricated around the sides and a mesh grill added on back, my only concern is looking at the srt 4 hood and my hood is that the srt 4 hood has a risen contour in the middle of the hood would this really make a difference in style you think?

how much would said shop fab run you? you can find the real deal used for about $400 on ebay, and carbon fiber ones $500 and up.

I don't see how you could just cut and bend.
One I don't see enough room between the hood and engine cabin
Two I don't see it looking very well

The hood does look a bit raised on the srt-4 though

I had given up on the idea but, now that you bring it up I may try it if I end up with a scrap neon to mess with.

When it comes to a scoop

I would first ask around online on google etc.. if anyone has used them (obviously someone has) how long they have used it, their experience with it, and so on.

The tape used should be strong enough so that any heat from a day in the sun or a warm / hot hood wont effect its "stickiness."

Next where exactly should the hole be cut
Which scoop you want to buy?

If anyone finds one that looks good done either by bending the hood or by using an air dam please post.
I have yet to find one.

Put on straight and painted correctly but, imo doesnt look very good. Mainly because, its not flush with the hood.

I always try and think of ways to modify stock parts i wanted to originally put a cowl scoop on my neon but then i stumbled upon a srt hood for a hundred bucks that needs work so im just going to fix that hood. I think cutting and making a backing would work if you took enough time. I fixed a front valance on my 72 dart when i got it it looked like it was ran over by a truck and now i get compliments on it. So just keep trying and it will look good just takes some work.
