Ok, This is my first post so Howdy. I'm Wattie drive an 02 neon 5 spd with about 123k Miles on it and its having some transmission problems I guess. This started about 4 months ago and I'm having trouble shifting in to any gear its really tough sometimes, It pops out of 3rd and 5th and it sounds like its grinding when the car is in neutral. Any Ideas what this could be?

 

How does the clutch feel in the car? Or did it feel i mean?

 

Do you mean like loose or tight? Because I think its a loose pedal but requires some play to get it in gear.

 

popping out of gear is an internal trans problem not a clutch problem. the clutch just links the engine to trans.

 

Found out what the problem was. Apparently I have a leak in the Transmission and I have been running for 5 months with not ATF-4 but Now I can fix it thanks for the help
