Best way to fix defroster malfunction. Plenty of hot or cool air but not diverting to windshield. Defroster **** doesn't work correctly. What do I have to remove to get at problem? Is it electrical , mechanical or vacuum operated?

 

Try this: Pull out the two center vents above the HVAC control panel. You'll see 2 screws that secures the stereo trim bezel. Remove the 2 screws and the bezel. Remove 4 screws from the HVAC control panel. Pull the control panel out a bit so you can see behind it. You should see a cable that connects to the ****. Sometimes the cable slips through the little clamp that holds it in place. Usually you can see indententions in the cable where it was clamped originally. You should be able to loosen the screw that holds the clamp, slide the cable back into position and tighten the screw. Hope that helps.
