Yes I tried that. On 2nd cap, one was autozon and one from Reilly's. Still the same runs just a little warm now and then. No fluid contamination yet looking at it and no increas or decreas of fluids yet. Maybe I gotta buy a molar stat.
Bought a Mopar radiator cap , I think there's a little change. The gauge needle just goes above normal, but still no transfer either way from overflow bottle. I already took out a cupfull of coolant from cap housing while it was warming up so I could see if there was flow, but it kept filling up the funnel some so I couldn't really see if there was flow. Didn't want to overflow onto engine or ground.
It looked like it there was movement. With no bubbles. ?????
Is the radiator cap housing, the little hose or reservoir bottle cracked anywhere? How's the gasket on the reservoir bottle lid (I think it has one)? If everything else is new/working, I'd have to lean back to a leak somewhere. Could be the water pump too; how old is it?
Took a look at the overflow hose. Looks OK. Had dealer replaçe water pump with T-belt while changing the whole power steering tensioner assy, back in Nov.
That's pretty much everything in the cooling system. My best guess at this point is there is still a leak somewhere or perhaps the water pump could be going out. I'd lean more towards a leak. Best of luck in your hunt. There isn't anything else I can think of.
Ok, well thanks for the info. I guess i gotta go back to dealer and have them find it. Hopefully its the water pump and since they replaced it back in Nov I would hope they treat me fairly. Thanks again
