Default 200 Neon help Please

I got a 2000 neon 2.0 auto 108000 miles. I was driving down the interstate at about 70 and there was a huge hesitation it was almost like the motor quit for a second then it kicked back in and drove normally. Then about 10 miles later it did it again. You guys have any idea what it could be. I have replaced plugs and wires last year.
Thanks any help appreciated.

Maybe check sensor connectors to make sure they aren't loose or corroded?

The check engine light came on and it has a code of PO340. Right now the car is super hard to start it turns over a lot nothing happens. I did manage to get it to fire but it stalled out when I put it in gear.

I just replaced the camshaft sensor and it fired right up the car used to idle really rough but that seems to even be quite a bit better. The car now starts fine and only idles a little rough. Thank you for the help. I will drive it more and see just how good it is.
Thank you.

It seems like a different car it runs a lot better for sure. My daughter even said it is like a rocket ship now. Should have changed it a while ago.
