How do you go about changing motor mount to the aftermarket/performance ones? Does it require a Shop or can you do it yourself? Anyone can write a Step-By-Step to how to do it? My car is shacking rough when I'm in a stop, like the engine is moving in every direction. Someone told me if i replace the mounts it might stiffen it up. I already change SparkPlugs so it aint that. Was he Right?
if you put race mounts in it will shake a lot but your motor mounts might be shot if it is just shaking a lot. its not that hard to change, just have a jack under the engine with a 2x4 to relieve the stress on the mount wile replacing them.
well actually, is not the mount itself that the guy told me to replace, it was the inserts, he told me to get the Prothane Motor Mount Inserts from modernperformance at like 30$, so thats how i would put them in?
not sure if im makin sense, not real familiar with that subject. My car trmbles when im in a light or at a regular stop, like my hood shakes, steering wheel, dashboard; never really did it it just began like 2 weeks ago.
Basically support the engine with a jack and 2x4 to protect the engine from jack. Ubolt the upper mount and slide the insert in the mounts large rubber bushing and the washer on the outside to hold the insert in bolt it back up. The do the lower directly below.
