My 2000 dash looks like the bottom of a dried up lake. At least 20 cracks. Now pieces are starting to fall in. I tried to mend it with JB Weld, but no luck. They just spawn new cracks. I really thought I was the only one with this problem until about three weeks ago. I saw the website of local 6 news out of Florida and e-mailed the reporter. He replied that he is looking into help with a government investigation. I hope this helps. I love the way my truck runs, but I will never but Dodge products again!!![:@]

 

Anyone from AZ that maybe interested in taking this issue to the news? It seems FL news has been doing some work on this issue, wouldn't hurt to add to it. In the past we have used 3 on your side for help and they got the issue resolved quickly. This is obviously a bigger problem, but I'm sure one of the investigation teams on our local news would pick this up. The more consumers we have the better. So if you'd like to help out, let me know. I will contact the news stations (and do the leg work) when I haveat least 2 other dodge owners joining us.It should not take much of anyones time (last time they came to my house), just an interview to show the dash problems. I hope to hear from others!

I have a 2001 Ram 1500 with less than 80, 000 miles on it. One day while driving on a paved road I heard a loud crack and pop. I then noticed a spider web crack all over the dash on the passenger side. Dodge says its not their problem. I was shocked to see that I am not the only one this has happened to and Dodge wont help anyone! Talk about disappointed![:@]

 

I was reading this post the other day and i told my father (he has a 95 2500) and he said well you must have gotten lucky (i have an 01 2500).....Damn him for jinxing me. Dont you know the day after he said that i got a crack in the dash. Its about 6 inches long and goes from the heater vent towards the steering wheel.. its right in front of my steering wheel, i have no cracks on the passanger side like most others are complaining about....wait i dont really want to say that,otherwise i bet there will be one when i get up tomorrow morning.

 

I have a 2001 ram also and of course mine is cracked too. I have a hole about 8 inched by 3 inched in my dash and there are so many cracks that I swear on of these days my whole dash is going to cave in. I know a bunch of people that have other year models and they have the same exact problem. One has a 1994 2500 and his is probably worse than mine. Another one has a 97 1500 and he put a cover over it. And one has a 2001 2500 and his is cracked only in two places and he tried to glue it but now it looks like crap. I really want to buy a replacement dash instead of just a cover but i cant find anything on the internet and i dont want to pay an arm and a leg from a dealer. Maybe a in a junkyard i could find one but it would probably be cracked too.

 

2002 Dodge Ram 1500 XL Quad cab

Same problem here. One day a few weeks ago I noticed a small crack in the dash on the passenger side. A few days later it had cracked all the way through and had shattered around the vent. Not much to do I guess. I don't want to replace it with another faulty dash. The sharp plastic concerens me though if the airbag were to deploy. Seems like it could cause some serious injury. Has anyone had an experience with this or have any knowledge of what could happen if it did deploy? Is this a safty issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Robin

 

I am the original owner of my 2001. The dealer fixed mine for $200.00. It was not cracked that bad. A co-worker is having his replaced for $50.00. His was destroyed. I believe if someone is having this problem, they should contact Dodge customer service and register a complaint. They had me take the truck to the dealer. The dealer verified to Dodge that the dash was cracked and Dodge quoted me $200.00 to replace it. I took them up on it.
