Default 2001 Ram 2500 for $3500

What do you guys think about this pickup? My wife saw it and took some pictures for me, but so far this is the only one I've seen:

Its a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 with a 5.9L Magnum. Only catch, A/C is not functioning. Automatic transmission. Unknown mileage at this time, I will give him a call later. Bedcover. Clean interior. I will post the other pics she took later tonight. Think its worth giving up my 2WD 1500 for a 4X4 2500?

Do you do stuff that needs the heavier duty truck? 4x4? Etc? If so, it looks pretty nice.....

I could always use a 3/4 ton. I've needed it in the past. Then there's the "we COULD do that if we had a heavier pickup." Like a camper, etc. And 4WD would be a nice convenience.

BUT.

184,000 miles...

Damn.

Looks pretty nice! Do it. Overkill is better than, well, a 2wd 1/2 ton

Find out more about it. Original trans? Engine? Any major work done on it lately?

I have 175K on mine, everything original, and it isn't in nearly as nice of condition as that one....... the mileage really doesn't scare me... much..... Mine still runs/drives/shifts rather nice.

Does it by chance have the cummins? If so you should jump on it. I would. Where is that?

That's quite a bit of miles, but I know you're in Texas where trucks are worth quite a bit more than other places. I would look around at some others on craigslist, if it's a better deal than anything you find on there, go for it. Is he looking to trade, or do you have to sell your truck first?
