steering wheel question
let me start off with this, i hate the stock steering wheel on these trucks everything from how big it is, to how skinny the wheel feels in my hand to where the cruise control is located on the wheel. so im looking at new wheels, is there anyway to keep my cruise control? extend the wires and relocate it somewhere else? have any of you guys done this or seen it? tips?

Well.... just as a thought....
The cruise switches just modify an input voltage, to 'suggest' to the PCM what it should do. So, supposedly, you could just build a little box, with three momentary "On" switches, and mount it someplace convenient, and just splice it into the current harness. (mount the box on the steering wheel somewhere, within easy reach, and splice it into the existing connector for the cruise....) You could even put the resistors elsewhere, so you can make the box a bit smaller.... it is just a tiny amount of current, so you could use tiny little switches as well.

Ooops. Forgot about that little detail......
I don't know if there are any laws that REQUIRE you to have it functional, if your vehicle was originally so equipped. I drove for many many many years before I even SAW a vehicle with an air bag.
