New (to me) truck!
It's been awhile since I've been on the forums. I've been swamped lately building a new garage into my house and working on my 67 GTO. I was daily driving my 97 ram 1500 and we decided it was time to begin looking for s new truck. Mine had 252,000 on it. Automatic that had NEVER been serviced. (Never rebuilt, changed or even had fluid or filter changed!) I looked around for some time then I stumbled upon this truck. It's a 2001 ram 1500. 5.2l 5-speed. 141,000 miles. Much better shape than my old one. Also came with the cap and tunnel cover. A little rust around the front fender and rear quarter and just starting on the door bottoms. It's been fairly well maintained. Though there's a few small things I have to fix/change.
Cracked dash
Rear pinion seal leaking
Oil pan is pretty rusty
Driver side mirror has a crack in it
Current muffler is cracked along the welded seam
Needs plenum fix
I'm planning on putting a 3" lift, replacing with tow mirrors, and doing the body work in a couple years. Then it'll be a good candidate for a 4BT swap! Also need to get the fuel mileage up a little bit. My 97 got a consistent 14mpg and 15.5 in the summer. This truck I have yet to get over 11.8 with my worst being 9.9.

Yup, didn't notice the mirror till like 3 days after I bought it so since I do pull trailers around from time to time I figured it's a good time to upgrade to tow mirrors. As for the dash it had a red carpet cover which looks terrible and I figured the worst under it but the dash really isn't all that bad. All the pieces are there so I'm going to go through the and glue it the best a can then cover all the seams with tape. I ordered the dash cover from Dashcovers.com. I've put one on before in a customers car and it was an excellent fit and once installed you can't even tell it's a cover. The heat is excellent so I'll do the plenum next spring lol. At which time I'm going to remove the stock cat and replace with a highflow and I already ordered a pypes violator muffler to replace the cracked magnaflow. I'm not sure what the death flash is so I'll have to look into that.
Also both headlights collect water so I'll replace those and the windshield wipers stop in whatever position I shut them off in. Doesn't matter if it's high speed, low speed or delay. So I'll be ordering a new ww motor soon.
