Default I don't care much for ice

Can ya guess what happened last winter?

It's alright though.
A little of this

A little of that

And it's almost as good as new with matte black enamel paint instead of powder coating

I'd say you're lucky you had that bull bar or that would have been a lot more expensive

I've read on here a few times that a brush guard won't do anything in a wreck or a deer hit but make it worse but I have proof that it will save the headlights and grille.
The only damage was where two of the bolts from the lights dug into the plastic piece on top of the bumper and popped all of the clips that hold it on. I already had bolts in both ends of that piece because half of those clips were already broken.
I also had to take the bumper loose and realign it and there's a small dent behind the passenger headlight from the brush guard.

repair turned out great.

i welded my grille bar in place. I have seen more than a few bolt in place designs pushed into the grille causing more damage. in my mind; damage may still happen with mine but the welds will hold better than the bolts

My brackets got bent to the side a little but it wasn't that bad. There are three 1/2" x 1 3/4" bolts on each side, I think the originals held up pretty well.
I used loctite instead of nylok nuts this time.
I literally gave them quite a few foot pounds of torque when I tightened them because I held the wrench with both hands and pushed the ratchet with my foot.
I wanted to keep this thing adjustable and removable because I might nail something else down the road. I went to Uwharrie a while back and it would move just a little if I grabbed and wiggled it but after smacking it on a rock it was nice and tight.

I can back up the saving front end pieces in an accident and also I hate ice as well.

But as you can see after the bumper with grille guard came off not as bad as one might think.

I think I have more work than Sheriff but concept is still the same.

Ouch. I'd be checking out the frame to see if it was tweaked. The bumper stopped the crumple zones from doing their job and that probably saved the doors, windshield, engine and a few other bits. Time to start looking for a parts truck with a decent front end on it.

the bumper in the profile pic must be for zombie chasing...i would hate to be on the wrong end of that bumper in a collision.

I got a parts one just need some time to work on it. Well here's what the other guy looked like. FYI he stopped illegally at the bottom of an icy hill and wouldn't move even with me honking at him:

Nice looking truck though sheriff and good job on the repair. Yes I am a full believer in front end protection. I had a buddy who's ranch hand grille guard saved his from a door someone opened as he was driving by on the street.
