Truck seems delayed
Well...I am a young driver and I do like to have fun with my truck on the highway with other cars/trucks. I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 and when im on the highway sometimes I see 2 cars or 2 trucks racing and I want to have a little fun too so I speed up right to them andmost of the timesone of them backs off so when they take off, I go to take offbut my truck is delayed a little (itis auto) and then after like 3 seconds it switches gears or finally starts to goand then takes off....maybe itsbecause im already doing 70 and it will take a while to speed up? Or is it because my tranny is about to go capooey...a friend told me that so I dont know....I hope not.

RE: Truck seems delayed
I'd try the TPS (throttle position sensor)and the crank position sensor modifications. The TPS is mostly for quicker throttle response off the line but may make a difference at highway speeds too. The crank sensoradvances the timing a bit.
Just a couple of the many things that can be tried.
I can't imagine it's your tranny.

RE: Truck seems delayed
Allright thanks, also can anybody help with me like maybe stuff I can do to my truck to make it faster? Im not very good with mods and stuff...
I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 v8(smaller version 5.2 I think?) short bed and short cab...its smaller then most trucks but its also pretty fast for a stock truck, oh and its 2wd...sadly
