My 4" Dewalt angle grinder and a 40 grit grinding wheel ate through those runners like they were made of wood. You just have to be REALLY careful you don't nick the plenum gasket mating surface.

I might have aluminum lung disease as an end result.

I just got back last night from business travel. I'll try to do it tonight when I get home from work. Sorry, just been really busy.

Nah not really. Looked at it last night trying to figure how much to take off. That one that pc posted from ebay said he took 2" off. I don't see how thats possible. If I took 2" off mine I'd be into the other runners so I'm thinking about an 1 1/2"

Ya, I struggled with how I should do mine too. It's hard to decide how much to take off if you plan to cut the runner parallel to the way it is currently shaped. That's why I chose to do the angled cut instead. That way, the back wall of the runner is still the full length it was from the factory. Air entering the runner is going to swoop down and hit the back wall of the runner before turning up into the runner. By keeping the back wall full length, it is essentially a tricky way of actually maintaining the full runner length (which is said to help low end torque), but instead opening up the overall opening size of the runner to facilitate better/more flow into each runner. I am very happy with the performance of mine. Wish I had dyno's before and after though.
