Default randem misfires ?

I have them also but only in gear it was not until the tranny was rebuilt ? that i would have this problem
I have changed the cmp ckp plugs wire cat roto while all these parts where needed it did not solve the problem how ever she runs great right up till you put it in gear the she dies
some thing with these trannys i had one once before do the same thing and nothing ever got fixed untill the tranny was right
so is it the stall converter or other pressure regulating ?? or do I just drop
$ 1500 on a replacement and then my head ache will go away

as for the guy who rebuilt it will see what he says in the morning
these trannys will turn a good dodge into junk
this is my second dodge to do this
good luck

I had random misfire code on my 98 360 I replaced the cap rotor plugs wires coil and still no luck finally I replaced the cat aND THAT SOLVED IT. uSUALLY IT HAPPENED ONMY TRUCK AFTER A FEW HOURS OF DRIVING/STOPPING WITH THE AC ON. I originally bought a replacement cat from advance auto and I jus replaced it today with a magnaflow so hopefully it won't clog again.

If your cat clogged, then that means there is a problem with your ignition system and emission controls. When is the last time your O2 sensors were changed? They should be replaced about every 60K miles, because they can degrade in performance but not trigger a code. A catalytic converter should never, ever have to be replaced if the ignition and emissions systems are operating properly.

By the way, isn't the blinking check engine light a code?

Have you done a compression and leak down test? it my be such a think the engine is just flat worn out and has not enough compression in it left to run properly i have seen this in 318 with as little as 180,000 rare yes it is but when they get close to 280,000 this is very common.

I had the same problem which turned out to be a bad Catalytic Converter. I disconnected the catalytic converter and the problem went away during the test drive. Replaced it with Flow Max catalytic converter and Summit Racing muffler and the problem went away. I also replaced the O2 sensors (front and back) while I was at it.

I had a similar problem a couple months ago. It turns out the o2 sensor pigtail was soaked with oil due to a leak. Oil and dirt buildup on these can cause problems. Just a thought.

Has anyone ever gotten these codes only when the fuel tank is low. I've gotten them 3 times. Twice the tank was below 1/4 full and the last time it was approx 3/8. All 3 times, when I've filled the tank and cleared the codes, the truck has run fine.

I also got a transmission temp sensor code 2 of the times, so there may be some connection there.
