Default Help Removing Muffler

I have dual 40 Series Flowmaster mufflers that are bolted on instead of welded. I just tryed taking them off and I got the bolts off. However, I can't get the muffler off of the piping. It's almost like rusted on there. Is there any tricks to getting off the muffler?

Thanks

It's because the clamps indent the metal to hold them onto the pipe. I've had luck using a heat gun or propane torch to heat up the metal where the clamp was and it should pull off easier then.

What if I don't have a heat gun or torch? Would a shop do it for me for cheap?

i never had any luck just unbolting and pulling the exhaust off becuase of the crimped pipe.. if you have a hack saw that would work but will take a little longer

Im having this same problem. I used a hack saw to to cut off the portion that attaches to the tailpipe (took several hours) but that left the output shaft still stuck on the tail pipe.
What should I do for the input?

I bought a FM 50 series SUV and it doesn't look like its going to fit with the stock piping. What should I do to make it fit (length wise)?

Thank you

Just cut the pipes as close as you can to the inlet and outlet. That's how I had to do mine. A sawzall would be ideal, but I just used a hacksaw. I'd keep a couple spare blades on hand. I went through 3 I think.
