Only problem with that statement is that there are maybe hundreds, of peeps on here with probs compared to the millions that are on the road with original tranny's IE. (mine is one of them). And so are the tranny's in numerous peoples trucks I talk to everytime I'm at the pump,at a parts store or in any parking lot for that matter. How it's maintained and abused are the major factors. And as far as I can tell from this forum and others, is the fact that I believe the 2001's are the worse and most prone to all these probs.

well, not quite flawless, there are small dents on both sides on the rear of the bed, behind the bumper, easy to fix, and some bubbles starting on the passenger fender wheel well.. Again, easy fix.. But the thing is so solid, I want to keep it.. I just can't afford the $$$ to get motor and tranny... So, we shall see what happens..

Its called Implied warranty.
Hey check your states implied warranty law. Just google it and see if your state has it. WV does and it states that any business which sells an item is responsible for ensuring that item does what it is intended to do for a reasonable time. 1/2 a day is not reasonable!! By the carlot placing the vehicle on their lot for sale they are stating that the vehicle is road worthy and if not they are responsible for either returning your money or fixing the vechicle to make it road worthy. If Ohio has it print it off from the internet and go to the carlot and show them. Even if they told you they were selling it as is it does not matter, hell even if you signed a paper saying that it does not matter, that is if Ohio has an implied warranty law. Not many people know about it and let the lots trick them into the 30 day 50% warranty.
