5.2 to 5.9 direct swap?
Sorry this question has probably been beaten to death, my buddy wants to swap a 5.9 into his truck, which currently has a 5.2, it should be pretty much a direct bolt in? Arent all accessesories the same on a 5.2 and 5.9?

You'll need the wiring harness and pcm from the 5.9.

Why?? The 318 is the better motor and will last longer.

Purpl, if you had the big bore, you'd be singing it's praises and you know it. I know of no evidence that says the 318 is "better" or "longer lasting".
I would actually SUSPECT otherwise ... people tend to thrash smaller motors.
Not spoiling for a fight ... just sayin'.

Anytime you disagree with Purpl, you're going to have a fight on your hands!
Not saying the 318 is a bad engine, but it is so similar to the 360, I highly doubt it lasts a great deal (if any) longer or is that much better of an engine.

I think where this legend comes into play was with the old 318's and 360's. I have heard a lot of old timer's talk about the 318 being such a great engine, and even better for durability than the 360. But, like I said, I don't think this has anything to do with the new Magnum engines, but rather the old LA blocks. I think it just carried over...
