No worries Laramie, I was merely stating what happened to me. I didn't mean it in a malice way what so ever. Bill, thats pretty funny...so that WAS you I saw at the gas station with the rocking truck. All this time I thought someone was getting "lucky". JK.

Pull lines at vapor canister, if charcoal is in line then its probably got some of the grains or dust in the purge solenoid. You can check the purge solenoid by removing and gently blow into the tank side of the valve, no air should come out the vacuum side. If it does then the valve is partially/full open all the time. Purge solenoid can be taken apart and cleaned if your careful, I've done it before takes about 10 min, or replace it. There was a TSB for 1996 and earlier about bad canisters and charcoal in the lines, but I had it happen to my 1997. Would need to repair/replace canister if charcoal in line too.
