i had the same thing awhile back, i tried 2 oil sending units, that didnt work, i put a mechanical gauge on it, it reads fine. so i changed the oil with normal 10w30 and used 4 quarts, then add 1 quart of lucas oil stabil. and now when its cold i get about 65ish psi, and after driving for 45 min or so it will still read about 30.

i had been told the hot curb idle psi is a minimum of 7psi. but normally hot curb idle you gonna want like 15-20. dont really wanna play on the low side of things.

oh also forgot, i changed the oil pump and pickup tube also, didnt have any change for it dropping to 0.

i read somewhere that it could of been a sodering problem in the instrument cluster itself.

Is it the WP pulley itself or the fan clutch that's loose?

If the pulley wobbles, replace the water pump while it is convenient for you, instead of on the side of the road, when it takes a serious dump.

Default Same issue in a 2500 van 5.2

The oil level is good and the oil weight doesn't help either.
I am starting to think the oil sensor is faulty or possibly the tube is plugged. I drove for 1 hour and 20 min in the desert and no knocking so there must've been a decent amount of oil pumping through.
