Default 318 360 torque converter

Hi guys new here. I just bought a 96 extended cab 4wd with a 318. I am going to buy a 360 block or complete engine and stroke it. Also rebuild the tranny. My question is is the torque conveter the same on both trannys from the 318 to 360? That would be the only difference that I could think of. Then I could just rebuild my current transmission and not have to look for one. or do I need to look for a used one from a 360.

you'll need a 360 converter
318 internally balanced, 360 externally balanced, what ever that means
i just know they are different
