Do the Sport models have factory lift?
#21
Any lift that was not the Off Road package would have been a dealer-installed option and not a factory one. The easiest way to spot an Off Road model (assuming the special decals have been removed) is to look at the front axle. It has some distinctive gusseting on it that is unlike any other Dana 44 used on RAM 1500s. And the Off Road package was only available on 1500s. 2500/3500 models sit higher than a standard 1500 by virtue of their stiffer suspensions and higher load capacities.

However, more than likely, if you don't have the Off Road package and you think its lifted, a previous owner probably did it.
EDIT: Miami Son beat me to it.

Although an old thread with a famed, (highly regarded) member on it, I'll render my info on the 99 2500 4x4 diesel I own. My 99 has front coil springs (diesel), that give it approx. a 2" lift. I would assume the 01 2500 diesels 4x4's are the same. I run 285/75/16 which I believe comes to a 33" tire with zero issues. K.

The 3/4 and 1 ton trucks sit a bit higher than their half-ton brothers, but, that is planned. Taller springs in front, and taller blocks in back. It isn't a 'lift' per-se..... as that is how it comes from the factory.
Stock, 33's will clear without trouble. Don't think I would go much wider than a 9" wheel, with 4.5" backspacing though.....
