How to remove spare tire with missing jack tools?
Does anyone know how I would go about removing the spare tire on a 1500 with no jack tools? The truck is missing the original jack tools, so I don't have the necessary part to stick in the part in the back to lower the spare tire.
Can anyone please suggest a good substitute that would work?
Thanks,

get a cresant wrench and lay under the truck. you will be able to get at the hexagon shaped bar and be able to turn it with the wrench. I had to do it. Its going to take a little while but can be done. If you know someone with small hands,i.e. little brother cousin or such, give them $5 to do it.

I got it. I took squirrel's advice and drove to the Dodge dealer (it's only like 2 miles away). They didn't have the jack tool, but the mechanic there was nice enough to rig up a bolt and nut combo, and he had an extremely long socket extension.
Anyway, the past part was not only did he remove the tire for me....they didn't charge me. There are still nice people in the world!
