so from what i've read the nut size for the front hubs on a 2001 4x4 is 1 11/16 but this does nothing for me as i have a 4x2. i went to the dealer and they pulled my VIN and gave me a hub nut based on that VIN. i measured the nut with a tape measure and it was about 1 5/16 is this supposed to be right? like i said i've found nothing about a 4x2 hub nut size.

Why don't you just try it? A 4wd uses the large one and on some later models the 2wd uses the same hub bearing assembly as the 4wd. And some 2wd's have the traditional inner/outer replaceable bearings. You are just going to have to look.

I'm not sure. I need to find out for mine as well cause I have a bearing that needs to be replaced. I think a search on bearing install might find something but haven't looked yet.
