1998 Dodge Ram P0753 Code Please help
Hey all, been awhile since I've posted on here. Anyway, my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with the 5.9 threw a code the ither day and it did act funny on me once. The Code was P0753 and came up as "Shift Solenoid A Electrical" as a generic code on my scanner. When the light came on it was like the truck stayed in 2nd or 3rd gear. Ran fine, reverse worked fine. Transmission fluid was recently serviced and is full to proper level. I pulled over once I noticed it not shifting (Got out of town and on the highway) and shut the truck off then restarted it and all was fine except the light remained on. Truck started shifting normal and such. Cleared the code and ran fine this morning. Second time this ram has done this. Just drove it 2hrs on the highway on Sat and everything worked fine so I don't think the "tranny is on its way out" like most people would say. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Should I get a Govenor pressure solinoid and sensor kit? I'm pretty proud of this ram and want to keep it going. She's got 313,000mi on it, yeah you read that right 313,000mi, and it's on the ORIGIONAL .OTOR AMD TRANSMISSION! Nothing but perfect maintenance and fixing stuff immediately has been done.

Do you mind posting a link to those solenoids? I can't find a "Shift solenoid" at the parts store. I ordered the governor pressure solinoid and sensor kit for it. Seen alot of reviews on it saying it fixed the truck being stucknin 2nd. I did have a band replaced awhile back. I think the service order was labeled "Band A"

HeyYou, I ordered this solenoid pair on Amazon. Is this what your referring to? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01KZGPU5I/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1527001287&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=1998+dodg e+ram+1500+shift+solenoid&dpPl=1&dpID=51n6NbzglNL& ref=plSrch
I hope to get this tackled this week. They say they will be here tomorrow. Probably adjust the band's while I'm in there, even though they were just recently done.

HeyYou, I got around to installing all those parts I ordered (governor sensor/transducer, governor solenoid, TCC & O/D solenoid set) and installed a new filter and fluid. Everything looked beautiful in there btw. I adjusted the band inside there with the pan off but the band adjuster from the outside was pretty crusty and it was getting late so o sprayed with with some penetrating oil and put the rest of everything togerher, filled the fluid, shifted through the gears on the column, put in neutral, checked it and added some then let in run awhile, checked again and it was still at proper level sol I took it for a drive. No.more engine lights came on, but it is slipping in first occasionally on take off, and it's slipping and acting goofy shifting between 1-2 gear. 2-3, 3-4 and lockup seem beautiful. Only 1 & 2. Could this be because I never got that band adjusted? It was shifting fine before, amd no slipping and I never messed with it so I would assume it should have still been good? Any ideas?
