conversions are fun... but if you pressed on $$$ the only way to do it is your self, and a doner is the only way to go, if you wanted to put a 24 valve in it, you would need to change the transmission, also need intercooler, radiator, engine mounted ecu, firewall mounted pcm, engine harness, apps sensor, and right side battery & box, there may be a few other little things you need but nothing major, and if you wanted to put in a 12 valve, you would need all of these parts off of a 98-98.5,

Default 74 or 75 power wagon D100

Would I have to make motor mounts to put a 12valve diesel in a 1974 or 1975 dodge power wagon D100?

Default Ram 2500 5.9 gas to Cummings conversion

Hey all so I have a 01 ram 2500 with 5.9 gas in it currently.
i have purchased a 5.9 24v Cummings, will post pics of the purchase engine. It is from a salvage yard so don't trolll to much.
i am courious as to what all I require to do the conversion. I'm fairly committed to doing this swap.
I have a good bit of diesel experience, mostly from working on ARMY vehicles which all are diesel.
Thanks for as much info as can be provided.

PCM
Wiring harnesses. Engine, and trans.
Trans..... the Cummins won't bolt to the V-8 transmission.
Probably front springs, considering the weight difference.
Fuel tank, and lines..... along with the stuff in the tank.
Might also need to address the input for the t-case, I think the trans will have a larger/different spline count, as compared to the gas engine.
Numerous other little things. Having the whole truck to swap parts off of would be good.

ok so that gives me a good list to start off with.
PCM I figured. Had to get the correct one for my gasser when I bought it. ( previous owner had p c m for a Durango in it)
engine and trans is a given. I am considering putting in a manual trans as opposed to the auto. Have not decided on that yet.
why the need for whole new fuel system? I get that gas in a diesel is not a good day.
mind expanding on numerous little things?
yes having a parts truck would be nice.

Diesel uses a lift pump in the tank, gas has a high pressure pump in the tank. The two are not really compatible. I am not sure if dodge used the same fuel tank, and just installed a different pump module though...

Also, I think the diesel had larger fuel lines?

Default Engine swap

I have a 2001 dodge 2500 that was originally a diesel but got converted to a gas by the IDOT and was wondering what all would have to be done to get it swapped back to a diesel
