Blown head gasket?

Yeah, a cracked head would really suck. It didn't get real hot on you, did it? Driving it with water leaking into the cylinder can crack the heads too. If you suspect a cracked head, pull the heads and take them to a machine shop.
If it's the intake gasket or the head gasket, you can probablly do it in a long weekend if you know your way around and engine. If you haven't done the plenum, I'd do it too.
Do a compression test of all the cylinders. They should all be within 10% or so. Low means blown.
Pull the intake, you'll be able to tell if the intake gaskets were blown. Then pull the heads (you've got to take off the exhaust manifolds too--which sucks--spray the bolts/studs with a good penetrating lube).
You'll need head gaskets, intake gaskets (and plenum), exhaust gaskets and I recommend new head bolts, intake bols and exhaust bolts.
Search head gasket, exhaust manifold, plenum and prenetrating oil.
