Default Replacement dash?

I've a 01 1500 and the dash is cracking badly (big surprise). I need to change the heater core and I don't think the dash will survive the process. Anyone know where to get a aftermarket replacement? All I can find is covers not full dashes.

Not sure there are full dash's available..... (and if they are, I would really hate to see the price on them.....) Best bet would probably be going to the local wrecking yards, and see if they have one in better condition.

There is a full replacement on ebay, although not original. You will need to have it painted too. I did like HeyYou suggested and hit the junkyard. Best $20 I've ever spent. Just can't understand why the junkyard dashes that are out in the elements, doors hanging wide open, hot / cold, etc... and their dashes don't crack. Or hell the truck was in an accident and the dash doesn't crack. WTF!

They have them for all 2nd gen Dodge trucks. Here's a copy of the email they recently sent me.

Hello Ron, Thanks so much for your question. Yes, we do have the 1994 - 1997 dash,
just same description and details as the later years. And same prices $ 329 for purchase and $ 45. for domestic shipping (to a pyhsical street address, not PO Box),
However, if you call me, you can place the order by phone or let me know and I can send you a paypal invoice. You can call me at (954) 975-3305 Mon - Fri 9am to 3pm eastern coast time. Let me know which one works better for you. thanks so much, Sheryl

Hi -

I see on your website after doing an internet search that you have replacement dash boards for the years 1998 - 2002 Dodge Ram truck, but how about 1996? My dash looks like someone hit it with a bat and so using a cover or cap on it is out of the question.
Do you have the dash I'm looking for, or do you know where I can find one for my 1996 truck? There are countless other older Ram owners in the same boat I'm in with this problem! Any help will be appreciated!

Thank you. I look forward to your reply!
Ron

This is the only company I have found so far that carries them, other than Dodge dealerships. Hope this helps!

Cool

Everyone,

I don't know if this will help you but I am going to give it a try. I experienced the same problems that all you are having with the dashboards on the 2001 Dodge Ram trucks cracking. I went to my local dealer ship to get some estimates on replacing the dashboard. My 2001 Dodge RAM 1500 5.9L has 196,000 mi. on it this year. So it is definitely out of warranty. The dealership quoted me $1,400 for parts and labor to repair the dashboard. You can imagine what I told them. With all the phone calls back and forth I ended up befriending one of the service reps. She gave me some inside information on this problem. There is a class action lawsuit against Dodge. She instructed me on calling the 1-800 number and asking for help due to the fact, that there is a class-action lawsuit. After getting Dodge corporate involved. Which was not easy!!!! They came up with a good-faith cost totaling $300.00. Even though they (DODGE) should have paid the whole expense I thought it was reasonable. If you're persistent and do not take no for an answer. They quite possibly could work the same deal for you.

I bought my new top peace from dodge and it was $400. Was pretty easy to install but i took the whole dash out of the truck. But that made it easy to do the heater core to haha.

I didn't know that... My vote would be to get one from Geno's then. I haven't heard any negative reviews on them at all, and they sent my new cup holder I ordered recently very quickly!
