Default Maximum tire size on stock 16x7 rim

Does anyone know the maximum tires size you can safely mount on the stock 16x7 rim. I don't care about rubbing or anything like that. I just want to know the biggest tire mounted on the stock rims. Please only post numbers you personally have used, none of the stuff like I heard of a guy did this or that. I want real world examples. Thanks.

stock rim I would say the widest you would want to go is a 305, they will look nice and give a beefy kinda look, any wider and they will be a bitch to mount and will wear wrong

I don't do metric!!! But you should not exceed 4" over your wheel width. Ideal is 3" with plus/minus 1" being considered "in spec". I've seen a few lose the bead cause the tire was too wide for the wheel, and you can forget airing down if it's too wide...

285-75 is the biggest I've run, and would not try anything wider or taller on a 16x7. IMO a 305 is a bit too wide for a 7 inch.

265/75/16 here (31's afaik) but I would like to try to get some 33's (285/75/16). Thanks for posting that pic merc225hp, I was wondering what 33's looked like on our trucks. You have no lift, correct?

305's are recommended for 7.5-9" wheels
