They knew exactly which PCM models would and would not work in my particular truck. They're slightly more expensive at $395 plus $100 core fee, but they also offer and 1-year warranty while I don't think O'Rielly's does.

I wanted to give everyone an update on this. I ordered a new PCM from http://autoecms.com, which arrived yesterday and this has completely fixed my problem. The truck starts up right away every time.
