Not shure on a 96 but my 99 is right at the junction of the trans hump and firewall just on the passenger side of the hump crest. It has a wiring plug(I think two wire) going in from the bottom.

Is your truck a 96? No blend door actuator motor for YOU! Cable operated. In the spot where the little motor is on the newer trucks, the axle for the blend door sticks out a bit. You should be able to feel it move as you cycle the temp control from hot to cold.

At one point, I had a bookmark to the procedure to adjust the cable. (and it was actually pretty easy.....) But, I am unable to come up with it now? It was posted right here on these forums, I think it was either J415, or ZMAN.......

The ceramic thing is the blower motor resistor and here are the directions for adjusting the cable, from the 98 FSM.
