Default 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 short wheel base

Hey I’m new to this forum and haven’t really used one before so here are my problems and questions well to start off I bought this 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 short wheel base 2wd it had the 3.9 magnum well I replaced the 3.9 with a 5.2 magnum I used the pcm and wiring that went to the 5.2 well my problem I’m having is the truck starts and run you can rev it up but I have the famous NO BUS and my dash and I have the transmission temperature light on and the O/D light saying off and seems like the truck doesn’t have any power when trying to drive it ok so my question are is the auto transmission going out and what could be causing my problems thanks in advance

That's not gonna work, 1997 had a different instrument cluster with a mechanical odometer vs the later models with the digital one. You need a newer PCM. Also, did you swap the transmission with the engine ?

No.

A LOT changed in 98, some more changed in 98.5, and yet more changed in 00. You need a pcm from a 98 or newer truck, and it will need to be flashed for the correct year/size engine/trans.

Should work. So far as I know, the PCM really doesn't care how many drive wheels you have.
