Default Front mini spool?

So I got this mini spool for cheap for my front d44 on my ram and I was wondering can I run that because of the axle disconnect or will it not work because I saw my front driveshaft spin in 2wd even though it has a disconnect.

The front driveshaft will still turn, even though it isn't powering anything, (and it isn't powered either.....) However, I would not put a spool in the front of a 4x4, unless you don't like turning corners in 4x4.

So long as the disconnect is working properly, you likely won't even notice it is there. The front driveshaft WILL be turning though, when you are moving.... as there won't be spider gears to redirect the energy. You *might* see your gas mileage suffer a point or so. Or not.
