If it comes down to it. Find a cheap 1500 axle and just swap hubs out.

Yea it is a LD light duty, GVWR is 7500 LBs,

D44 3.54 sticker right under the hood anyhow, and I have found out that I would have to be extremely lucky find another LD 2500 to get an axle from, after looking every where remotely close.

I didn't want to do a bunch of swapping and modifying if I didn't have to (Not my Truck) but It looks like a 1500 and swap the hubs or a 2500 Dana 60 & driveshaft U-joint.

On the Dana 60 swap in regard to the bigger control arm bolts, what is the best way to deal with that, just use the D60 arms or what exactly.

By the way thanks for the info, I really didn't want to start getting the wrong parts for it.

You might need the entire Dana 60 front driveshaft as it may use larger u-joints. The t-case to driveshaft connection should be the same. I am not sure if the u-joints are different or not but I wanted to make you aware of the possible issue.

The Dana 60 does not use larger control arm bolts. Something with the bushings and bolts changed in the last few years but the change was across the board 1500-3500. Its a year thing not a size thing.

You can use abs or non abs axles too. It does not matter for you.

Are you in WI? http://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/2311190393.html

Yup that's me, pulling out all the stops. Junkyards want $700 for a newer 1500 w/ suspension bars even if there was one locally and I'd still need the knuckle assembly from a 2500 for the right side.
