Yeah, your truck weighs just shy of 3 tons... so, technically, one jackstand would hold the truck up safely, provided you could get it balanced right.

2 ton stands are ok. 3 ton is better. i like having 4 stands, so you put the entire truck safely up on stands.

a 2 ton jack will work. i've used a pair of them for years and years, but one of them won't adequately lift the entire front, and i was always having to use both jacks to get the front up. a 3 ton is much better.

i've got a fairly new 3 ton OTC stinger jack and stands from the local parts store. it was $120 last year and i thought that was a pretty good deal.

I have a big *** 2 ton jack with a bent handle from using it as a back-up bar when I did the front hub bearings, lol. Fits beside the workbench better now.

I would prefer a 3 ton but the 2 does the job. Stands are 6 ton.

I would go with 6 ton stands. They're considerably higher and you sure won't have to worry about weight capacity. They're cheap at harbor freight when they're on sale. I have 2 3 ton stands I use when I can't jack the car up enough to fit the 6 tons.
