Default t-case question

The parts truck i have been looking at needs a new t case. what ones will swap up? truck is a 1995 1500 with the 360 and an auto..(club cab SB) found one out of a 1997 that should work but guy said it would have to be a manual for it to work because they changed something in the case then(seems weird to me...) im guessing 1994-2001 should work?

T-case shift pattern change in 98, I think...... I don't remember if there is a difference in output shafts between auto, and manual trannies on these guys..... that would be the only reason the manual trans case wouldn't work.....

If you got a newer case, might be able to just get the shift **** as well, so it shows the correct pattern?

Read their fine print on what they consider a 'usable' exchange, they may not accept one with a cracked case.

all 2nd gen t-case's have the same ring pattern where they bolt to the transmission case. all you have to do is make sure that the t-case input is the same size, the out put shafts(what the d-shaft slips onto) are pretty much the same iirc. if the input are diffent the its not that difficult to swap them out. if you go this route and you need to swap the inputs just pm me and ill walk you through it if you need help.
