1995 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Magnum V8
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Magnum V8. Iam not sure what too call it,but when i go too shift gears from parked too Drive,Reverse or any other gear, the shifting marker does not matchup with the gear letter indicator.... You have too go passed drive too 1st then back up too find the DRIVE gear,,,, because on the way down you can shift it into DRIVE but on the gear indicator panel it isnt aligned with the letter D and so on for the other gears..... it runs well...but the alignment for the desired gears are not exactly in line or centered on the letter of gear your in....
When your in DRIVE your indicator ls in between Neutral and Drive.... and so forth
1.My question is can this be adjusted or what exactly causes this too happen?
2.And what is the name of the gear shifting display panel on the steering column?
3. What exactly do you have too adjust to fix this problem?

mine is similar but not exact. If I go from park straight to drive, it acts a neutral. However, if I go from Park, drag it down to "1" (still not moving) and then bring back up to Drive, it goes into drive, no problem. Can this be fixed by playing with that screw in the picture, and where exactly is that?

LMAO, so am I, and that's no excuse. Check it all, from steering column by brake booster, all the way down to the tranny.
