BBK vs. Holley 52mm Throttle Body
Anybody have experience with these from Summit Racing? There's a 100 difference between the two and the best I can tell the Holley is better because it has anodized surfaces.
Holley:

BBK:

Why not just get a holley 52mm one from ebay for $139 from a member here who sells them there? It sure beats $400 for the one you posted...
correction** they just went up to 149 plus shipping...

What about Dan Arcand? You youngins probably don't know about him.
www.thefastman.com
Cleanest port of a stock throttle body I've ever seen.
Another great guy is Richard Karn at Hypotek.
Either choice is superior to the Holley or the bbk, based on price vs performance.
Oh, the stock throttle body is a Holley, btw.

I realize the stock is Holley. They make good stuff. Perhaps more detail about my intention.
I was contemplating a CTD swap but decided to just take the spare 360 in my shop and build a stroker 408 for the extra power. In the mean time I am collecting parts that I can use on the current motor as well as the new one.
Soooo, in light of that I am open to suggestions on a good TB and will check out the previous posts.
Thanks.

What exactly makes the fastman superior to say the 52mm post and polished ebay one I mentioned? judging by the feedback he has been selling them for years....that and search here shows many here have bought them nd had good results...half the price for the same modified thing just seems like a no brainer to me?

Augie,
I'm not sure what prompted you to ask that. I typically don't just follow the crowd and I didn't discount your suggestion. I just happen to comment on the fastman pricing in light of their apparent following.
Whatever the case, I appreciate the link and still need to check it out.

BTW what advatage would the anodized surfaces actually provide to life and function? longer life wear the butterfly shafts wear?
