It is a kit from Kilby Enterprises, http://www.kilbyenterprises.com/ , Brad is a internet friend who had a TJ that he had put a 5.9 into. So because I knew about his Jeep and that he had made the brackets for it I called to ask him if he had any more. He only had 5-10 kits made up and had a few left. It was never offered on his web site but if enough people with 2nd gen trucks were to ask for the brackets he might start making them again.

I hope I make it to the Rubi before they pave the dang nab thing. I can't believe what they did to the Little Sluice!!! Just like Panamint Valley & Surprise Canyon I waited too log and now the dang thing is closed. It was a trail on my bucket list that I almost did in 1991when I cam home from Korea. But I said I'd wait until I had a better rig. Missed out on another chance in 97 to run it. Hopefully someday it will be opened again.

This thread made me sign up for this forum.
My dad recently told me of his plans to gift me his '97 1500 (he bought it new, and it was my daily driver in high school, but I couldn't afford to drive it to college) when I graduate college this year. It's been sitting for about three years, and I plan on doing a complete engine overhaul/upgrade as a project of sorts when I get a "big boy" job.
Not trying to hijack your thread here, I just wanted to say thanks for the very informative and detailed thread Wildman!

I have not gotten any work dome to the Jeep or the engine for the past couple of weeks. I have been laid up with my leg bothering me. And now it looks like I am going to be gone for a few weeks because my dad has just been admitted to the hospital and my mom is not sure that he will be leaving the hospital. So I am leaving tomorrow and am headed down to California to be there and help my mom.

I'll let you all know when I get back and start working on this again. Sorry this is taking so long but I am in no hurry and it will get done when it gets done.

+1 ^^^ Take care of family and your health first. It's not a race, we'll still be tuned in when you get to it.

Well I am back home and am going to start tinkering with the engine and pulling parts off the old engine getting it ready to come out.

My dad is out of the hospital and he & my mom are moving from California back to Washington because the doctors in California felt that the poor air quality was part of the problem with his lungs. So now they will only be 2 hours away instead of 24 hours. They have already moved him up here and my mom is headed back to California to finish packing so they can move their belongings up here.
